SustiNet: Knocked Down but Not Knocked Out!

The horrible, perhaps even inevitable has happened. Governor Rell has vetoed the SustiNet bill. For all those that sacrificed so much to advocate for SustiNet, please do not feel discouraged. It was not that you did not do enough, it was that Gov. Rell does not care enough.

With that veto we have been knocked down but we have not been knocked out. There is still always the opportunity to override the veto. I'll be blunt- the chances are not good. The 2/3 votes needed are there in the House (a credit to all the lobbying done by you all this session) but the Senate is a different story. As of now, we are drastically short.

It is time to blitz our State Senators! Calls, emails, petitions, editorials, don't hold anything back. Frankly, because this is it. If we don't succeed here there is not another shot. They need to know that votes are at stake for them if they do not vote for SustiNet.

Everyone likes a good underdog story; let's make this one they will talk about for years to come.
