At approximately 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May30th, HB6600 AAC SustiNet Plan passed the Connecticut Senate 23-12. This is historic.THANK YOU for the phone calls, the letters and emails -- and for coming out to the rallies and forums and more. This great victory of ours is proof of what we can accomplish when we unite. Hundreds of people from a host of organizations, unions, clergy, student groups and ordinary citizens raised our voices in unison to achieve this great victory.
Juan Figueroa, President of Universal Health Care Foundation, stated "It's not often that elected leaders get to enact major reforms of this magnitude. The people of Connecticut delivered a clear message to the House and Senate -- and they responded. Now Governor Rell has the opportunity to sign SustiNet into law and deliver health care we can all count on to everyone in Connecticut."
There is still work to be done. More to follow.
